At our grounds you will find what you need to play table tennis and our pool with its length of 15 metres is great for swimming. As the tranquility of our gardens is one of the key advantages of Villa Belle Rive, we do not offer many other activities in our grounds. That does however not mean that there is “nothing to do”. Just out of the back gate you are at the beach road, where you can join the big number of people jogging there every day.
Not far from the house you will find a location where people go surfing on windy days and during summer there are many operations offering water ski, parasailing, sailing and other activities relating to the sea. Fishing is not common.
In Cannes la Bocca you will find bowling, laser quest and fitness. The airport of Mandelieu houses schools that offer introductory flights. If you play golf, you will find the “Golf Club de Cannes” to be close-by. For the other golf courses in the area, you will require a car. The same is true for horseback riding.
Events
Fire works – every year the city of Cannes is host for the Festival International d’Art Pyrotechnique. Starting the 14th of July, 6 companies from different countries compete for the best firework performance of the year. This treats the guests of Cannes to a huge firework, lasting 25 minutes, more or less every week until the end of August.
Fête du Mimosa is an annual event in February. Entire roads are decorated with the Mimosa flower, which blooms from mid January to the beginning of March.
The famous Carnival in Nice takes place in February.
Every year in March a huge re-enactment of the landing takes place with old rigging, actors, Napoleonic troops, weapons and campaign equipment. For a few days during this highly original spectacle, the town and all of its activities take on an imperial flavour. There are conferences, exhibitions, soldiers bivouac on the beach, windows are decorated and shop staff dress up in costume.
Menton is a bit farther away, but is very accessible by train. From mid February until the end of the month, the city is all about lemons for their “Fête du Citron“.
Every August, Cannes la Bocca is host to the “Flower Parade”. Mostly it is part of the “Fête patronale de la Saint-Barthélemy” with a range of activities starting in the middle of August for a whole week.
